As part of our commitment to helping facilities improve the early capture and longitudinal care of incidentally identified pulmonary nodules, we have established the Eon Center of Excellence (ECOE) program to support facilities offering this potentially life-saving patient care. The ECOE program accredits and provides resources to facilities who achieve better patient outcomes and improve survival rates.

STANDARDS THAT ARE UNIQUE TO ECOE
Unlike other Centers of Excellence, the ECOE program is a developmental program and requires no cost, no application process, and no data submission. All qualifying facilities will have program benefits access and will continuously receive year-round program-specific analyses of how to achieve higher tiers and improve patient outcomes. In addition, these standards set ECOE apart from other center of excellence programs:

From the very start, Eon has led the way in incidental pulmonary nodule management and continues to blaze the path forward. While other center of excellence programs have finally begun to understand the importance of incidental pulmonary findings, Eon already has over six years of proven success helping facilities identify and manage these patients. Now, with ECOE, Eon draws on this deep expertise to help facilities apply best practices in incidental pulmonary nodule management so their programs will achieve higher levels of patient care.

ECOE has three tiers of accreditation that your program can attain as you achieve higher and higher levels of care for patients with incidental pulmonary nodules: Bronze Tier for Patient Capture, Silver Tier for Follow-up Adherence, and Gold Tier for Program Integration.

Patient Capture
The Bronze ECOE goes to facilities that ensure each incidentally identified pulmonary nodule that requires follow-up is being appropriately captured, and each patient is added to a system for care management.
FOLLOW-UP ADHERENCE
The Silver ECOE is awarded to facilities that demonstrate exceptional patient return rates and adherence to the Fleischner Society guidelines. This level can be accomplished by ensuring patients return for evidence-based follow-up surveillance, performed within the appropriate time period, given the risk of a potential lung cancer.
INTEGRATED PROGRAM
The ECOE Gold tier focuses on exceptional patient adherence. Gold tier builds on top of the Silver tier’s criteria to include the addition of patient retention and making sure patients are returning for follow-up at your facility.
PROGRAM CHAMPION
Amy Kaminski, BSN, RN, CPFT, is the ECOE Champion. She will be your go-to source for everything related to the ECOE program, and works directly with all ECOE-accredited facilities to make sure they understand the program and the process to achieve higher tiers.
